Hello! My name is Pastor Doug. I am a lifelong resident of Chanute, Kansas. I attended the Chanute Public Schools and graduated from Chanute High School. After high school, I graduated from Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, KS.
Soon after college, I married the love of my life, Beth. She also graduated from MNU. We began our teaching careers and still have the privilege to educate children here in Chanute.
God blessed us with three awesome children, and now one beautiful granddaughter!
I am so excited to pastor the church that raised me! God has blessed us in so many ways. I believe that He has many more good days ahead for the Chanute church. I have a deep connection and a strong commitment to serve this community. I have a heart for broken and hurting people. I desire to serve God and His people, by being a beacon of Hope and guidance to those around me. My continued prayer is that God will use me however He wants to to advance His kingdom!

My name is Ryan Gottschalk, and I grew up in Southern Illinois. During my childhood, I found joy and social interaction through playing sports and being involved in the church. Although I accepted Christ at a young age, I didn't truly live by my beliefs until the summer of my senior year in high school.
After completing high school, I pursued a degree in youth ministry at Ozark Christian College. Currently, I serve as a youth pastor at Chanute Church Of The Nazarene, where I have developed connections and developed a deep affection for Southeast Kansas. Throughout the past few years, I have had the privilege of working in the school system, sharing my life with my wonderful wife, Kelsi, and raising our first child, Everlee!

MEN’S MINISTRY
Men’s Ministry is all about spreading and celebrating the word of God among the men of the church. We want to actively pursue men to connect them to God and help them find their purpose in their lives and the life of the church.
WOMEN’S MINISTRY
Women's Ministry focuses on sharing and honoring the word of God with the women in the church. We aim to actively engage women, guiding them to connect with God and discover their purpose within their lives and the church community through life groups, women’s conferences, and quarterly events to share with one another.

Life Groups
Various Life Groups gather at different times throughout the week to deepen your connection with God. Our church provides a range of life groups for congregation members looking to form closer bonds within the church and engage with the community. The main goal of all these groups is to share life experiences and support one another as a unified group.
Refuge On The Edge
The Refuge on the Edge ministry is a continuous initiative that offers meals and services at various intervals annually. Specifically, this occurs on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. The primary goal of this ministry is to assist individuals in need and offer them a chance to encounter the love of Jesus.
Chronic Pain Ministry
We've established a ministry with the aim of supporting individuals dealing with chronic pain, reassuring them of love and the presence of companions who can offer hope through their journey. Our organization is dedicated to aiding those facing hardships and providing them with a reliable support system. Regular meetings for this ministry are held on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month.
G.U.A.G Ministry
Our Get Up and Go ministry utilizes an off-campus facility and a food pantry to connect with our community. Our goal is to support community members during challenging times by engaging with them through various initiatives.

Our Beliefs
Agreed Statement of Belief
WE BELIEVE in one God—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. | WE BELIEVE that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living |
WE BELIEVE that human beings are born with a fallen nature, and are, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually. | WE BELIEVE that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost. |

REPENTANCE
We believe that each person must repent, turn from sin and trust Christ to accept him or her.
JUSTIFICATION
We believe that when we turn from sin and trust in Christ, the old record is sin is wiped clean and we are born again, thus becoming part of the family of God
SANCTIFICATION
We believe that after being born again, we need the fullness of God’s Spirit in our hearts. When we make a complete commitment to Him, He cleanses our spirit, fills us with His perfect love, and gives us the power to live victoriously
